West Cornwall and India

In these beautiful haunting and peaceful paintings you can feel Treloar's great personal love of her native Cornwall. She has encapsulated the rugged Cornish landscape with farms set between the hills amid the backdrop of the Cornish coastline; together with old Chapels starkly staring out into the countryside and abandoned barns and out buildings soon to be converted into restaurants. She has created memories of days long past mixed with tradition still battling to survive in her landscapes, she then catapults us into the 21st Century Cornwall with her images of hotels and bar kitchens.

In January 2007 Treloar travelled to India with the RWS as a guest of the Indian Art Trust and has produced a new body of work where she has returned to figurative painting. These vibrant compositions loosely painted employing Treloar's innate use of colour and light depict every day effervescent scenes of Indian life.
